Directing Musical Theatre

Directing musical theatre has to be one of the most fun things to do in life. I love the process and find it exhilarating, poignant, and rewarding. After all, we all come into this world singing and moving our feet to music. Why ever stop?

Ladies and gentlemen, either you are closing your eyes to a situation you do not wish to acknowledge, or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated by the presence of a pool table in your community.

Add Special Moments.

Another cast of 40 middle schoolers. When dealing with a cast this size, it is always important that every cast member has a special “moment” that stands apart from the rest of the cast. I usually ask all cast members what other talents they have that we might be able to utilize, and I am never disappointed. For this production, I was able to include a tap dancer, an intermediate Irish step dancer, and a level 10 gymnast in “76 Trombones” which made for a super-wow show stopper.
